End of support
Sell before support ends: a deadline the customer cannot move.
When a system runs out of support, there is a date after which the company carries risk it cannot insure and cannot explain to its auditor. That date creates budget. The partner who raises it first usually wins the project.
What the signal is
Vendors publish when each product version stops receiving updates. Windows Server 2016, for example, leaves extended support on 12 January 2027.
racon matches those lifecycle dates to what a company is known to run, and shows a countdown: 14 months, 6 months, 3 months. The closer the date, the stronger the timing score.
Where racon cannot tell what a company runs, it says unknown. It never guesses a version to make a list look better.

Questions
Where do the dates come from?
From the vendors' own published lifecycle information. Each date shows the product and the source.
How does racon know what a company runs?
From signs in public records and the company's own web pages. When the evidence is thin, the field stays unknown.
Does it cover cloud products?
The strongest cases are on-premises systems with a fixed end date. Cloud products rarely have one, so there the platform change is the better signal.
Can I be warned before a date?
Yes. Countdowns update with the list, and the timing score rises as the date comes closer.
